The Best Man

Matt Ruetz is the younger brother of the groom.  Matt and Zach were born only 18 months apart, and have always been very close.  Matt is a talented musician, and has recently started his own construction and home remodeling business here in Toledo.  In fact, Zach and Matt have played in bands together, and Matt employs Zach as his right-hand man at MR Construction and Design.  Matt is also an excellent cook, and recently got engaged to the lovely Kristi Kay.

The Maid of Honor

Máire Devlin (say it:  MO-ra) is Claire's best friend and partner in crime.  Claire and Máire's friendship started in Mrs. Rajner's Freshman Honors English class and was solidified when they survived Sister Irene's Honors Chemistry class together.  Mutual love of arts and crafts and Starbucks brought them together, and a commitment to really being there for each other through it all has made their friendship last.  Even through attending different colleges and living in different cities, the two have remained close.  Máire currently lives in Chicago, where she works in forensic accounting.  She is accompanied by Ashkon Farmand.

Our Officiant

Renee Granados is one of the bride and groom's best friends.  She was born and raised in Toledo, and went to high school with Claire, where the two became good friends.  Zach met Renee in 2011, through her boyfriend Steven.  In addition to being a loyal friend to both Claire and Zach, Renee is a talented graphic designer and an accomplished aerial silks performer.  Always up for an adventure, Renee (and Steve) is responsible for at least 90% of the fun in Zach and Claire's weekends.  The bride and groom would like to thank Renee for marrying them!

The MC

Jan (say it:  YON) Cameron is Claire's eldest brother.  Always a big personality, he is known in the Cameron family to make the house feel full of laughter and good times.  Jan and Claire share both a love of Battlestar Galactica and their alma mater, Kenyon College.  Jan enjoys mixed martial arts, science fiction movies, and has recently picked up slow-cooker cooking.  He is a mathematician and professor at Vassar College, and lives in Connecticut with his wife, Melly Suryani.  Claire and Zach greatly appreciate Jan emceeing their wedding, and will continue to suck up to him until the wedding so that he doesn't make fun of them too bad at the reception.

Claire's Parents

Drs. Donald and Mary Cameron live in Perrysburg, Ohio.  Mary is a professor of education at the University of Findlay, and Donald is a pediatric neurologist and professor at the University of Toledo Medical Center.  Mary and Donald teach a class together at the University of Findlay called Brain-Based Learning.  Claire would like to thank both of her parents for their constant support (including, but not limited to, listening to her complain about school...ALL the school), good advice, caring and loving attitude, laughter, and complete acceptance of Zach into the family.

Zach's Parents

Sandra Ruetz (Sandi) is the beautiful and outgoing mother of the groom and the best man.  Sandi adores her two boys and has succeeded in raising them as a single parent.  She has been known to strike up a conversation with anyone she meets, and is guaranteed to make you laugh.  Claire and Zach would like to thank Sandi for all her love, support, and lasagna over the past two years, and are happy to share this day with her.

Robert Ruetz, the father of the groom and the best man, passed away in 2004.  He was a talented drywall contractor with a love of music.  Rob was a loving father to his two boys, and to Zach and Matt's half sister, Julia Ruetz.  Rob shared his love of music with both Matt and Zach; he taught Zach his first chords and bought him his first guitar at the age of 16.  Rob's family cherishes the memories they have with him, and will miss him greatly on the day of the wedding.

Guest of Honor

Ginger Agby is a long-time mutual friend of both Zach and Claire, and schemed to introduce them in February of 2013.  In addition to being an enterprising fashionista, Ginger is the proud new mother of the adorable Newton Good.  She is accompanied by her fiancé, Nic Good.  Claire and Zach would like to thank Ginger for orchestrating their meeting--we still owe you that steak!

The Wedding Guests

We want to thank all of you for being there for us throughout the years, each in your own special way.  We know that we could not have made it to this step in our lives without your love and support.  Thank you to each and every one of you for sharing in our story!
